She grew up in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky and moved to Chicago in 2006 to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she received a BFA with an Emphasis in Writing. In 2009 she began working with students in the Chicago Public Schools as a volunteer with 826CHI . In 2015 she received her Master of Arts in Teaching from Columbia College Chicago, where she studied Visual Arts Education as a recipient of the Follett Graduate Merit Award. Jeni has also worked with the Center for Community Arts Partnerships (CCAP), and taught Saturday art classes in Highland Park as part of the Art For All program. From 2015 to 2017 she taught 7th and 8th grade art and seminar at Kelvyn Park School. As a dedicated member of the KP community, Ms. Crone served on the PPLC, Climate and Culture Team, and sponsored middle school Art Club. She currently teaches 7th Grade Creative Arts Studio: Visual Art, Marks: 2D Art Lab, Art 1 and Public Art at Lindblom Math and Science Academy.

Jeni holds a Professional Educator’s License in the State of Illinois with endorsements in Visual Arts (K-12) and Language Arts (5-8).

She enjoys watercolor painting, taking pictures of birds, the New England landscape, and chai lattes.
